Doom of Irafan

Grimlock's Vision after the defense of the crystal in the Illuven Monastery

The Bane-infested seem to be making another charge. Once again we assume they are trying to get to the crystal in the monastery, though we don’t know why. Is it because the crystal keeps them at bay, or because they are trying to corrupt it’s power? Either way, they WILL NOT reach it. Not if I, with the help of my companions can help it.

After fending off the last of the invaders, with the help of the crystal obliterating a few of the foul creatures. We fear two newcomers that fight by our side, Lusitania, and Gabriel may be tainted by the Bane, we are sending them to the members of the Order of the Black Flame that are cleansing the village, to be safe.

I am drawn once again to the strong natural power emanating from the crystal. Without really thinking about what I’m doing, I morph into the form of mountain’s thunder, and make my way to the crystal. Without any hesitation I place my hand on the crystal to try and commune with the energy of nature…

Suddenly, I’m in a city. A city surrounded by a forest…even though I’ve never been there, I have a feeling I’m in the Fay city of Norhend. I’m abruptly lifted into the air, I’m flying over the forest, towards cliffs seemingly made of glass. As I continue to fly over the landscape, with no sense of direction, I begin to fly over a a desert with sands of silver(The Realm of Ishtar?). In what appears to be the middle of this desert is a palace. A beam of light comes from the center of the palace, I’m drawn toward this beam. As I touch it, I’m thrust upwards at indescribable speeds…

When my head is clear again, I find myself standing on a street, in a city more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. The buildings are amazingly, and wonderfully tall. The streets are made of what appears to be flagstone. There is no way to tell what race may have built such a magnificent city, if any race did, everything is perfect. No stone, out of place, even the stones in the streets are cut perfectly. This city could have been made by the Gods…

Odd though, this city is completely empty, or so I think. That is until I hear crying, it’s unbearably sad. My protective nature moves me toward the sound. I round a corner, trying not to marvel too much by my surroundings, it’s hard not to though. I see what appears to be a young girl. She is sitting on a porch, dressed in strange garments. I slowly approach her, she looks up at me, startled. Not by what I am though, I’m used to getting startled looks for what I am. This is different, she isn’t startled by the fact that I’m a Goliath, she’s startled by the fact I’m here. That anyone is here…

She asks me how I came to be here. As I explain my journey, she seems to perk up slightly by the mention of the desert of silver sands, and the palace. She listens patiently as I conclude my story. I ask her who she is, and why isn’t there anyone else here. Her reply surprises me “Everyone, just gone.”.

I suddenly find myself back, standing in front of the crystal. I’m wrought with an encompassing sadness. Who was that young lady? Where was I? As ponder these questions I feel myself toying with Zoric’s pendant hanging from my neck, given to me before we parted ways. I remember the room we got these “items of the Monument Builders”, and it’s strange ceiling with the map covering it. Subsequently I remember Zyra’s friend Dawn, who we brought down there, and her vision/possession. It suddenly springs to mind what the script on the pendant says, where the missing piece of the map on the ceiling was thought to be, I think I know where I was…could it be…was I in…
